8. Still find it weird how Microsoft made it so you can't upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1 without first upgrading to 8, then updating to 8.1, so you only get to choose between a clean install with personal files kept and a clean install.

    Works unsurprisingly well for a 2014 machine. This is just another proof that (most) requirements are artificially imposed by Microsoft so they can get people to buy new "Windows 11-ready" PCs by 2025, W10's EOS year.

    @verge Your new website ...it doesn't even feel like I'm reading a tech news website anymore. This basically just reminds me of some kind of a social media platform consisting of blog posts and a Twitter-like feed (idk it's just what I prefer to call the "storystream" on the right)...

    @verge And if I want to read an article, I'd have to deal with a bright background. FYI that it's 2022 and a dark mode these days is pretty much standard. Before rolling out a huge redesign to a website, please make sure it is truly user-friendly, including accessibility wise.
