  1. looks like after all Microsoft is indeed coming back to releasing ACTUAL new Windows versions every few years. And "WaaS" will probably only live within Windows Update, thus keeping the same update system from W10/11 for many years to come. @verge/1547892342496997376

      Except that there will be no annual big updates to X Windows version, and instead the monthly cumulative updates would be pumped (occasionally) with new features 'n stuff tested in the Insider program (like last February)

        Now, only time will tell how Microsoft's new strategy will work out after all. Still, at this moment, my preference for the strategy of releasing new updates and new actual Win versions used prior to W10 and "WaaS" remains.
