    It actually worked. YET I'm far from reaching 500 subs, which is a requirement for mentions. Should note, I can only mention channels that have at least 500 subscribers. If I try to mention a <500 channel, then it still results in pure text. I doubt this is intentional, at all.

      For the record, I found out of this possibility while uploading my next video, which will come out tomorrow. While writing the title for the said next video, a list of channels suddenly appeared (without me even putting a @ symbol), which did made me think of mentions.
